Around the House 2

There was a hitch in my hopes of finding a new fun place to explore today, which left me somewhat stuck around the house again today (with the exception of a mad-dash to the County Clerks Office and Post Office to get my passport name change application sent in with 6 days to spare from the issue date (free if done within a year of issue) - OH how I hate and love you, procrastination). However, being that I woke up on the side of the bed this morning that comes with a desire for rain, a need for ibuprofen, and the knowledge that you're better off by dodging people - I was pleased to just stay home. Tending to the garden - watering the lawn - talking to a cat and dog - was about as active as I felt like being today. But as always, who is to say there is nothing interesting around the house to photograph? An adorable Georgie, a sassy Cloey (I've not yet introduced Miss Cloey yet), little lady hummingbird...there's plenty of photo fun to be had right at home. I was tempted to take a photo of the giant zucchini we managed to grow that I harvested today, but we all know what they look like - and lets face it... a giant zucchini in and of itself does not for a interesting photograph make.
Lady Hummingbird likes my flowers as much as the hummingbird feeder.
My lazy boy

So, your first thought is probably - what in the world? This is Olive Oil and balsamic vinegar for a goody I was making before I wisped it together. I thought it looked really neat....

He thinks the spare bed is solely for him - and is particularly fond of it when the sun shines

I was pulling weeds from the walk-way when I almost came up right into this. Luckily I saw one fly by me and quickly side stepped. These guys are black and intricately designed with white... what are they? UPDATE: Baldfaced hornets - I googled :)

I enjoy having fresh flowers in a vase on the table. Just makes me happy.

Miss Sassy Pants, Cloey. She likes to pretend she needs to go out only to go lay on the deck in the sun.
